FX's Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll will not be returning for a third season. Sources close to the show and the network have confirmed the news this evening. However, FX has declined to comment. The show ended its second season on Thursday, September 1.
The series followed aging singer Johnny Rock, 25 years after his prime, trying to regain strong footing in the music business when his daughter expresses an interest and ability.
The comedy's cast included Denis Leary, John Corbett, Elizabeth Gillies, Bobby Kelly, Elaine Hendrix and John Ales.
Leary created the series and served as executive producer with Jim Serpico. FX Productions, Fox 21 Television Studios and Apostle produced.
In Live+3 numbers, the second season of the comedy averaged 680,000 total viewers. Only 305,000 were in the coveted 18-49 demographic. That number was down considerably from the first season.
