ABC's THE GOOD DOCTOR
- The broadcast network has ordered a pilot for drama The Good Doctor written by House creator David Shore based on a South Korean format. He executive produces with Daniel Dae Kim, Sebastian Lee and David Kim. Eric Gunn and Lindsay Goffman are co-executive producers. Sony Pictures Television, Shore Z Productions and 3AD produce. The project centers on a young surgeon with Savant syndrome who is recruited into the pediatric surgical unit of a prestigious hospital. The question will arise: can a person who doesn't have the ability to relate to people actually save their lives?
ABC's DOOMSDAY
- ABC has also ordered a pilot for drama Doomsday written by Mark Bianculli and VJ Boyd (Justified). They executive produce with Carol Mendelsohn and Julie Weitz. Sony Pictures Television, Carol Mendelsohn Productions, Pernomium Pictures and Signal Hill Productions produce. Set in the aftermath of 9/11, when the U.S. government institutes a secret think tank featuring the most creative minds in science and entertainment that is tasked with dreaming up man-made disaster scenarios and their possible solutions. Because the hypothetical ideas are deemed extremely dangerous, the list is sealed and the program shut down. But when a catastrophe occurs that's ripped from the pages of the missing doomsday book, the team is brought back years later to prevent the disasters of their own making.
FOX's UNTITLED MATT NIX PROJECT
- FOX's first drama pilot order of the season is going to its untitled action-adventure drama from Marvel and written by Matt Nix (Burn Notice, A.P.B.). He executive produces with Lauren Shuler Donner, Bryan Singer, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory. 20th Century Fox Television and Marvel Television produce. The project focuses on two ordinary parents who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.
FOX's LINDA FROM HR
- The network has also given a cast-contingent pilot order to single camera comedy Linda From HR written by Geoff Barbanell and Itai Grunfeld. They executive produce with Aaron Kaplan, Tracy Katsky and Dana Honor. 20th Century Fox Television, Kapital Entertainment and Kat Co. produce. Here's the project's logline: All it takes is one bad decision to throw Linda from HR's monotonous, unfulfilled life into an exciting but dangerous tailspin of balancing work life, home life and a secret that could unravel everything.
CBS' THE GET
- CBS has ordered a pilot for drama The Get written by 11.22.63 showrunner Bridget Carpenter. CBS Television Studios produces. The project centers on a team of tireless Internet journalists who pursue and expose stories of injustice using their unconventional investigative techniques in today's anything-goes world of reporting.
