CBS' Untitled Paul Attanasio & Untitled Jenny Lumet; The CW's Dynasty; and FOX's Controversy, L.A. to Vegas, The Resident & Type A.





THE CW's DYNASTY
  • Just days after being ordered to pilot at The CW, the potential remake of the hit primetime soap has cast Nathalie Kelley (UnREAL, The Vampire Diaries) as one of its leads. She will play Cristal, a Hispanic woman marrying Blake Carrington and entering his WASPy family and America's most powerful class.
FOX's THE RESIDENT
  • The broadcast network has ordered a pilot for drama The Resident written by Amy Holden Jones, Hayley Schore and Roshan Sethi. Jones executive produces with Antoine Fuqua and Oly Obst. Schore and Sethi are co-executive producers. 20th Century Fox Television, 3 Arts Entertainment and Fuqua Films produce. The project centers on an idealistic young doctor who begins his first day under the supervision of a tough, brilliant senior resident who pulls the curtain back on all of the good and evil in modern day medicine. Lives may be saved or lost, but expectations will always be shattered.
FOX's CONTROVERSY
  • The network has also given a pilot order to drama Controversy written by Sheldon Turner (Up in the Air). John Requa and Glenn Ficarra (This Is Us) have signed on to direct. All three executive produce with Judy Smith, Jennifer Klein and Charlie Gogolak. 20th Century Fox Television, Vendetta Productions and Zaftig Films produce. The project follows the Junior Counsel of a prestigious Illinois university who must deal with an out-of-control scandal when a young co-ed accuses several star football players of sexual assault. From the football coaches and boosters who wield outsize influence, to a university administration under siege, the series explores the type of high-profile controversy all-too familiar on today's college campuses, as well as the corrosive, dangerous nature of institutional power.
CBS' UNTITLED JENNY LUMET PROJECT
  • CBS has picked up a pilot for an untitled drama written by Jenny Lumet (Rachel Getting Married). She executive produces with Katie Couric, David Marshall Grant, Alex Kurtzman and Heather Kadin. CBS Television Studios and Secret Hideout produce. The project follows an elite team of investigators for the Northeast Regional U.S. Hate Crimes Unit as they solve a myriad of crimes against humanity as they confront their own biases.
FOX's TYPE A
  • FOX has now handed out a pilot order to single camera comedy Type A written by Lesley Wake Webster (Life in Pieces, Go On). She executive produces with director Jason Winer. 20th Century Fox Television and Small Dog Picture Company produce. Based on the book Assholes: A Theory by Aaron James, the project is an office comedy about a group of consultants hand-picked to do the dirty work most professionals can't handle like layoffs and downsizing - basically generally delivering horrible news. To everyone else, they're the enemy, but to each other, they're family. 
FOX's L.A. TO VEGAS
  • The broadcast network has also ordered a pilot for single camera comedy L.A. to Vegas written by Lon Zimmet (Happy Endings, Superstore). He will executive produce with Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Chris Henchy. 20th Century Fox Television and Gary Sanchez Productions produce. The project is an ensemble workplace comedy about a group of underdogs trying to find their place in the world. It is set on the Friday night flight from Los Angeles to Las Vegas and the returning flight on Sunday. They all share the same goal: to come back a winner in the casino of life.
CBS' UNTITLED PAUL ATTANASIO PROJECT
  • CBS has given a pilot order to an untitled drama written by Bull creator Paul Attanasio. He will executive produce with Leonard Goldberg, David Barrett and director Rodrigo Garcia. CBS Television Studios will produce. The project centers on the multi-generational members of a Mexican-American family with deep roots in San Diego who intertwine personally and professionally due to their powerful careers in law enforcement.
