CBS' REAL LIFE
- The broadcast network has ordered a pilot for hybrid comedy Real Life written by Hilary Winston (Bad Teacher). She executive produces with Carter Bays and Craig Thomas. CBS Television Studios and Sony Pictures Television produce. The project chronicles the relationship of two 20-somethings who go from being co-workers on opposite coasts to working in the same office.
ABC's UNTITLED MARC CHERRY PROJECT
- Ben Esler (Hell on Wheels) and Natalie Hall (Star-Crossed) have been cast on the drama pilot starring Reba McEntire. Esler will play Hollis, a shy, sweet and very odd guy taking care of his wheelchair-bound and deaf grandmother who has no idea her grandson kidnaps women and keeps them prisoner in her attic. Hall will play Jennifer, a charming and very pretty party girl who enjoys meting and hooking up with strange men and catches the eye of both a visiting FBI agent and a local psychopath.
ABC's LIBBY & MALCOLM
- Caitlin McGee (Shades of Blue) has booked a series regular role on the comedy pilot starring Felicity Huffman and Courtney B. Vance. She will play Zev, a brazen producer on Libby (Huffman) and Malcolm's (Vance) show.
NBC's UNTITLED KOURTNEY KANG PROJECT
- Kenneth Choi (The People v. O.J. Simpson, The Last Man on Earth) has landed a lead role on the comedy pilot written by Kourtney Kang. He will play Clyde, Katie's (Isabella Russo) dad, an insurance agent who seems to know exactly what to say in order to diffuse tense situations.
ABC's SPLITTING UP TOGETHER
- ABC has ordered a pilot for single camera comedy Splitting Up Together written by Suburgatory creator Emily Kapnek. She executive produces with Ellen DeGeneres, Mette Heeno, Jeff Kleeman, Hella Joof and Mie Andreasen. Warner Bros. Television, Piece of Pie Productions and A Very Good Production produce. Based on the 2016 Danish series, the project revolves around a couple whose marriage is reignited by their divorce.
ABC's CHARLIE FOXTROT
- The network has also given a pilot order to single camera comedy Charlie Foxtrot written by Sam Sklaver (American Housewife). He executive produces with Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor. ABC Studios and Kapital Entertainment produce. The project centers on Captain Charlie Taylor, a cautious, lovable dentist stationed at Fort Bragg who promises to look after his brother's impulsive fiancée and her two misfit teens while his sibling is deployed in Iraq.
ABC's LAS REINAS
- The network has also handed a pilot order to drama Las Reinas written by Dean Georgaris - who also wrote the pilot for For God and Country at NBC this pilot season. He executive produces with Mark Gordon and Nicholas Pepper. ABC Studios and The Mark Gordon Company produce. The project revolves around Detective Sonya De La Reina, who is forced to confront her past when a case compels her to reconnect with her estranged family - the most powerful criminal outfit in Miami. Thrust back into the world she thought she had left behind, Sonya must walk the murky line between the law and her family, and question her true destiny as a De La Reina.
