Netflix has renewed its original comedy series Santa Clarita Diet for a second season, it was announced today. The new season will debut in 2018. An exact episode count was not immediately released.
The series follows Sheila, a once happily married wife and mother, as she and her suburban family adjust to her new life as an overnight zombie.
The cast includes Drew Barrymore, Timothy Olyphant, Liv Hewson and Skyler Gisondo.
Victor Fresco created the comedy. He executive produces with Barrymore, Olyphant, Aaron Kaplan, Tracy Katsky, Chris Miller, Ember Truesdell, Andy Weil, Jane Wiseman, Brittany Segal and Ruben Fleischer. Kapital Entertainment, KatCo, Flower Films, Garfield Grove and Olybomb Entertainment produce.
The 10-episode first season was released on the streaming platform on February 3, 2017.
