Syfy has renewed its original drama series 12 Monkeys for a fourth and final season, it was announced today. Moreover, the cable network has revealed that the third season will premiere in May.
The third season of 12 Monkeys based on the 1995 film of the same name will premiere on Friday, May 19 at 9/8c. Additionally, Syfy will air the entire 10-episode season over three consecutive nights - with four episodes airing on May 19, and three episodes airing on Saturday, May 20 and Sunday, May 21.
Season 4 of the drama will be its final season. It will consist of 10 episodes and likely debut in 2018.
The drama stars Aaron Stanford, Amanda Schull, Nick Acevedo, Todd Stashwick, Emily Hampshire and Barbara Sukowa.
Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett developed the drama. They executive produce with David Grossman, Richard Suckle and Charles Roven. Universal Cable Productions and Atlas Entertainment produce.
