The CW has renewed its original drama series Riverdale based on the Archie comics for a second season, it was announced today. An exact episode count was not immediately revealed.
The drama stars KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Cole Sprouse, Marisol Nichols, Madelaine Petsch, Ashleigh Murray, Casey Cott, Mädchen Amick and Luke Perry.
Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa developed the drama. He executive produces with Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Jon Goldwater. Warner Bros. Television, CBS Television Studios and Berlanti Productions produce.
For the season-to-date, Riverdale is averaging a 0.8 rating in the Adults 18-49 demo demographic and 2 million viewers in the Live+7 statistics.
