The CW has renewed its original drama series The 100 created by Jason Rothenberg for a fifth season, it was announced today. An exact episode count was not immediately announced.
In its fourth season, the drama stars Eliza Taylor, Paige Turco, Bob Morley, Marie Avgeropoulos, Christopher Larkin, Devon Bostick, Lindsey Morgan, Richard Harmon, Zach McGowan, Isaiah Washington and Henry Ian Cusick.
Jason Rothenberg created the drama. He executive produces with Leslie Morgenstein, Matt Miller, Gina Girolamo, Bharat Nalluri and Elizabeth Craft. CBS Television Studios, Warner Bros. Television and Alloy Entertainment produce.
The renewal comes as The CW has already locked down most of its schedule for next season - having renewed nine of its original programming. The Vampire Diaries and Reign are airing their final seasons while iZombie and The Originals have yet to start their new seasons. New shows No Tomorrow and Frequency wrapped their first seasons without additional episode orders. They seem unlikely to return.
Rothenberg also has a pilot in contention for a series order at The CW - drama Searchers starring Zane Holtz and Alex McGregor.
