A few weeks after making the bulk of its early renewals for the 2017-18 broadcast season, CBS has renewed its original drama series Criminal Minds for a thirteenth season.
In Season 12, the drama stars Joe Mantegna, Matthew Gray Gubler, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, Damon Gupton, Adam Rodriguez and Paget Brewster.
This season also marked the firing of original series star Thomas Gibson following an on-set altercation with a writer. He was written out of the show in the sixth episode of the season.
Jeff Davis created the drama. Executive producers include showrunner Erica Messer, Mark Gordon and Breen Frazier. CBS Television Studios, ABC Studios and The Mark Gordon Company produce.
Criminal Minds continues to be a solid performer for CBS. In Season 12, it is currently averaging a 2.4 rating in the key Adults 18-49 demographic and 11 million viewers when factoring in seven days of delayed viewing.
