Amazon has today announced a premiere date for its upcoming original comedy series The Tick based on the comic book series of the same name.
The 10-episode first season will debut on the streaming service on Friday, August 25.
The series centers on an underdog accountant with zero powers who comes to realize his city is owned by a global supervillain long-thought dead. As he struggles to uncover this conspiracy, he falls in league with a strange blue superhero.
The cast includes Peter Serafinowicz, Griffin Newman, Valorie Cury, Brendan Hines, Yara Martinez and Jackie Earle Haley.
Ben Edlund developed the series. He executive produces with Barry Josephson, Barry Sonnenfeld and Wally Pfister. Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television produce.
