NBC has renewed its original drama series Taken for a second season, it was announced today. The new season will include 16 episodes - up from the 10 of the first season.
The drama stars Clive Standen, Gaius Charles, Brooklyn Sudano, Monique Gabriela Curnen, Michael Irby, Jose Pablo Cantillo, James Landry Hébert and Jennifer Beals.
Alexander Cary developed the drama based on the film franchise of the same name. However, he is exiting the series after one season as showrunner. A search for his replacement is underway. Luc Besson, Matthew Gross, Edouard de Vesinne and Thomas Anargyros are executive producers. Universal Television and EuropaCorp Television produce.
The first season averaged a 1.5 rating in the key Adults 18-49 demographic and 7.5 million total viewers, in Live+7 numbers.
