Casting News - Paulo Costanzo Books Series Regular Role on 'Designated Survivor'; 'White Famous' Adds Five as Recurring

Casting News - June 29, 2017

ABC's Designated Survivor and Showtime's White Famous.

ABC's DESIGNATED SURVIVOR
  • Royal Pains star Paulo Costanzo has been cast as a new series regular on the drama's upcoming second season. He will play Lyor Boone, the new White House Political Director, a whiz kid brought on by Emily (Italia Ricci) to help a presidency struggling with its messaging and political strategy. President Kirkman (Kiefer Sutherland) has mixed feelings about Lyor; his talent and value are undeniable, but Kirkman uneasily embraces the necessity of a wheeling-and-dealing next-gen political operator. Lyor's cynicism inevitably will clash with Kirkman's idealism, but Lyor's big selling point is one that Kirkman can't deny: If Kirkman wants Americans to believe in their government again, they first have to believe in Tom Kirkman. And Lyor can help with that. Lyor is Kirkman's guide on his journey from outsider to insider.
SHOWTIME's WHITE FAMOUS
  • Jack Davenport, Michael Rapaport, Lyndon Smith, Cleopatra Coleman and Lucien Laviscount have landed recurring roles on the upcoming comedy starring Jay Pharoah. Davenport will play Peter King, a network president who's super positive and super happy to be in business with Floyd (Pharoah). Rapaport will play Teddy Snow, a disheveled and intense Oscar-winning actor turned director. Even though Teddy makes great movies, he has a well-earned reputation around town for being completely unhinged. Smith will play Gwen, a beautiful young actress who will play Teddy Snow's daughter in his next movie. Coleman will play Sadie, Trevor's (Lonnie Chavis) mother who is ferocious, smart, a force to be reckoned with, pragmatic but also warm and loving. Laviscount will play Robbie, a very handsome and talented British actor auditioning with Floyd for Teddy's project. He also plays guitar in a band.
