CBS' Superior Donuts; FOX's Star; NBC's Saturday Night Live; and Netflix's Dear White People & The Haunting of Hill House.
FOX's STAR
- Stephen Dorff (Blade, Somewhere) has been cast in a key role on the drama's upcoming second season. He will play Bobby Dean, Star's (Jude Demorest) father, who has tons of swagger and returns to Atlanta to reunite with his family.
CBS' SUPERIOR DONUTS
- Orange Is the New Black and Jane the Virgin star Diane Guerrero has joined the comedy's upcoming second season as a new series regular. She will play Sofia, a young Uptown gentrifier who parks her food truck, which serves healthy, socially conscious breakfast foods, in front of Arthur's (Judd Hirsch) old-school donut shop. Though Arthur assumes she's an entitled millennial, she's actually a hard-working, enterprising, self-made woman who has poured every penny into her food truck business, which she plans to turn into an empire.
NETFLIX's THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE
- Oliver Jackson-Cohen (Emerald City) has booked a series regular role on the upcoming drama starring Michiel Huisman, Carla Gugino and Timothy Hutton. Like with all previous casting, no details were released about the character he will be playing.
NETFLIX's DEAR WHITE PEOPLE
- After heavily recurring throughout the first season, Marque Richardson has been promoted to series regular for the comedy's upcoming second season. He plays Reggie, a computer science major and Sam's (Logan Browning) right hand man.
NBC's SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE
- Ryan Gosling is set to host the Season 43 premiere of the sketch comedy series on Saturday, September 30. This will be his second time hosting. He will be joined by musical guest Jay-Z. The announcement was made by Colin Jost and Michael Che at the end of this week's episode of Weekend Update: Summer Edition.
