Epix Picks Up Limited Series 'The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair' Starring Patrick Dempsey

Two years following his exit from ABC's Grey's Anatomy, Patrick Dempsey is plotting his return to television. Epix has today picked up the 10-episode limited series The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair with Dempsey in the title role.

Based on the European novel by Joel Dicker, the drama stars Dempsey as Harry Quebert, a literary icon who finds himself indicted for murder after the body of a young girl is found buried on his property.

Ben Schnetzer (Snowden) plays Marcus Goldman, a successful young novelist who has been mentored by Quebert. Damon Wayans Jr. (Happy Endings) plays Sgt. Perry Gahalowood, a Maine investigator on the case of the young girl who was found dead.

The cast also features Virginia Madsen, Kristine Froseth, Colm Feore, Josh Close, Matt Frewer, Connor Price, Tessa Mossey, Victoria Clark, Craig Eldridge, Kurt Fuller, Don Harvey, Felicia Shulman and Wayne Knight.

Lyn Greene and Richard Levine (Masters of Sex) are writing the adaptation, with Jean-Jacques Annaud (Black and White in Color) set to direct. They executive produce with Tarak Ben Ammar and Fabio Conversi. MGM Television and Eagle Pictures produce.

"With its provocative subject matter, inspired casting and source material from master storyteller Joel Dicker, The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair is the perfect addition to our offerings at Epix," said Mark Greenberg, CEO, Epix. "We look forward to working with MGM Television, Eagle Pictures and this fantastic creative team as we continue our expansion into original scripted programming."
