Spike Sets Premiere Date for Season 2 of 'The Shannara Chronicles'

Spike has today announced a premiere date for the second season of its new original drama series The Shannara Chronicles.







The 10-episode second season will premiere on Wednesday, October 11 at 10/9c. Season 2 will be the first to air on Spike. The move from MTV happened in preparation for Spike's upcoming rebranding as the Paramount Network.

Season 2 takes place a year after the Season 1 finale. The Four Lands are in chaos. The re-emergence of magic has the populace terrified, and an organization called The Crimson is hunting down magic users, using fear and intimidation to sow discard among the races. Wil, scarred by the loss of Amberle and his separation from Eretria, has turned his back on his magical destiny to become a healer. But when a mysterious woman named Mareth saves Wil from a Crimson attack, he is forced to rejoin the fight.

The returning cast includes Austin Butler, Ivana Baquero, Aaron Jakubenko, Marcus Vanco and Manu Bennett.

New additions in Season 2 include Malese Jow, Vanessa Morgan, Gentry White, Caroline Chikezie and Desmond Chiam.

Alfred Gough and Miles Millar developed the series based on the Shannara books by Terry Brooks. They executive produce with Jon Favreau, Jonathan Liebesman, Stewart Till, Dan Farah and Eugene Stein. Sonar Entertainment, Millar Gough Ink and Farah Films produce.
