Netflix has handed out a 10-episode series order to an untitled multi-camera comedy starring Joseph "Rev. Run" Simmons and his wife, Justine Simmons. Production will begin in January 2018 for a debut later in the year.
The comedy stars Rev. Run and his wife, Justine Simmons, playing fictionalized versions of themselves. It centers on a legendary rapper whose plans for slowing down are thwarted when his wife decides to pursue her own dreams.
Jeremy Bronson (The Mayor) wrote the pilot, with Andrew Reich set as showrunner for the first season. They executive produce with Rev. Run, Justine Simmons, Michael Lehmann, Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey. ABC Signature, Amblin Television and Simmons Lehmann Productions produce.
