Netflix has given a 10-episode series order to the animated comedy series Tuca and Bertie, it was announced today.
The animated comedy revolves around the friendship between two 30-year-old bird women who live in the same apartment building: Tuca, a cocky and care-free toucan, and Bertie, an anxious, day-dreaming songbird.
Tuca will be voiced by Tiffany Haddish. Bertie has not yet been cast.
Lisa Hanawalt (BoJack Horseman) created the series. She executive produces with Haddish, Raphael Bob-Waksberg, Noel Bright, Steven A. Cohen and Michael Eisner. Torante Company will produce. Animation will be done by Shadowmachine.
