YouTube Red has today announced a premiere date for its half-hour original dramedy series Youth & Consequences starring Anna Akana.
The 8-episode first season will drop on the streaming service on Wednesday, March 7.
The series follows Farrah Cutney, the girl everyone wishes they were in high school: a master of her domain, queen of "spin" and the resident "fixer." However, she's at the center of a rumor storm that she can no longer control. It's a series that boldly tackles hot-button issues like feminism, gender identity and the seemingly life-or-death stakes of adolescence in the Digital Age.
The cast also includes Sean Grandillo, Katie Sarife, Kara Royster, Sophie Reynolds, Piper Curda, Savannah Jayde, Moses Storm, Marcia Cross and Cary Elwes.
Akana co-created the series with Jason Ubaldi, while Blair Singer serves as showrunner for the first season. The trio executive produce with Mark Gordon, Nick Pepper, Tom Spriggs, Jesse Hara and director Wendey Stanzler. The Mark Gordon Company produces.
