Epix has picked up the United States rights to the eight episode original drama series Deep State starring Mark Strong. Furthermore, the premium cable channel announced a summer premiere date for the season.
The 8-episode first season will debut on Sunday, June 17 at 9/8c.
The drama is a grounded, visceral thriller that moves between the deeply personal story of a family man fighting to escape his past and the violent, dark excesses of government and global corporate power.
In addition to Strong, the cast includes Joe Dempsie, Alistair Petrie, Karima McAdams, Anastasia Griffith, Lyne Renée, Amelia Bullmore, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Pip Torrens and Fares Fares.
Matthew Parkhill and Simon Maxwell created the drama, with Parkhill serving as showrunner and director. They executive produce with Hilary Bevan Jones, Alan Greenspan, Helen Flint, Jeff Ford and Sara Johnson. Fox Networks Group Europe & Africa and Endor Productions produce.
