Netflix Sets Premiere Date for New Drama 'The Good Cop' Starring Tony Danza and Josh Groban

Netflix has today announced the premiere date for the upcoming original dramedy series The Good Cop starring Tony Danza and Josh Groban.

The 10-episode first season will debut on Friday, September 21. The premiere date was announced during the first commercial trailer that aired during CBS' The 72nd Annual Tony Awards - which Groban is co-hosting with Sara Bareilles.

Danza stars as Tony Sr., a disgraced, former NYPD officer who never followed the rules. He lives with his son, Tony Jr. (Groban), an earnest, obsessively honest NYPD detective who makes a point of always following the rules. The "odd couple" become unofficial partners as Tony Sr. offers his overly cautious son blunt, street-wise advice on everything from handling suspects to handling women.

The cast also includes Monica Barbaro and Isiah Whitlock Jr.

Andy Breckman created the series. He executive produces with Danza, Howard Klein and director Randy Zisk.
