Netflix has today announced that the upcoming seventh season of the original dramedy series Orange Is the New Black will be its last. The final 13-episode season will debut on the streaming service in 2019.
In its sixth season, the dramedy starred Taylor Schilling, Natasha Lyonne, Uzo Aduba, Danielle Brooks, Jackie Cruz, Laura Gómez, Selenis Leyva, Taryn Manning, Adrienne C. Moore, Matt Peters, Jessica Pimentel, Dascha Polanco, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Nick Sandow, Dale Soules, Yael Stone, Kate Mulgrew and Laura Prepon.
Jenji Kohan created the series. She executive produces with Sara Hess and Tara Herrmann. Lionsgate Television and Tilted Productions.
The prison series was renewed for a seventh season as part of a three-season pickup ahead of its fourth season. It was always deemed likely that Season 7 would be the final season. And now, it has finally been confirmed by everyone involved.
