USA has today renewed its original drama series Queen of the South for a fourth season. The drama is expected to return with new episodes in 2019.
The drama stars Alice Braga, Peter Gadiot, Hemky Madera, Nick Sagar, Yancey Arias, Idalia Valles and Veronica Falcon.
Dailyn Rodriguez and Ben Lobato have been tapped to replace Natalie Chaidez as co-showrunners for the upcoming fourth season. Chaidez served as showrunner for the second and third seasons, having replaced original showrunner Scott Rosenbaum. Her exit comes from wanting to focus on development through her overall deal with Fox 21 Television Studios.
"After two incredible years working with USA Network at the helm of Queen of the South, I'm moving on to develop my own projects full-time with my friends at Fox and Fox 21 Television Studios," said Chaidez. "I will miss the QOTS familia and fans, but I am proud to pass along the baton and champion the growth of co-showrunners Dailyn Rodriguez and Ben Lobato."
