Netflix Picks Up Four-Part Limited Series 'The Liberator' Created by Jeb Stuart

Netflix has today given a series order to the four-part original limited series The Liberator created by Jeb Stuart (Die Hard, The Fugitive).

Based on the book of the same name by Alex Kershaw, the series tells the story of U.S. Army officer Felix Sparks and the 157th Infantry Regiment of Oklahoma, a National Guard unit that was almost continuously engaged in battle for 500 days during World War II, from the invasion of Sicily in 1943 to the liberation of the Dachau camp in April 1945.

The four-part series will be produced with a hybrid animation process called Trioscope, a new technology that blends CGI and live-action performance.

Stuart will executive produce with L.C. Crowley, Bob Shaye, Michael Lynee, Sarah Victor, Brandon Barr, Mark Apen, Barry Jossen and director Grzegorz Jonkajtys. A+E Studios, Unique Features and School of Humans will produce.
