Starz Reveals Premiere Date for Season 2 of 'American Gods'

After an extended hiatus and behind-the-scenes difficulties, Starz has today announced the premiere date for the upcoming second season of the original drama series American Gods.






The 8-episode second season will premiere on Sunday, March 10 at 8/7c.

In the new season, the battle between Old Gods and New Gods moves inexorably toward crisis point as the destines of gods and men collide. While Mr. World plots revenge for the attack against him, Shadow throws in his lot with Wednesday's attempt to convince the Old Gods of case for full-out war, with Laura and Mad Sweeney in tow. A council at the House on the Rock explodes into chaos, sending deities both Old and New on quests across America that will converge on Cairo, Illinois: forcing Shadow to carve out a place as a believer in this strange new world of living gods - a dark world where change demands commitment, and faith requires terrible sacrifice.

The drama stars Ricky Whittle, Emily Browning, Crispin Glover, Bruce Langley, Yetide Badaki, Pablo Schreiber, Orlando Jones, Mousa Kraish, Omid Abtahi, Demore Barnes and Ian McShane.

Guest stars in the second season include Cloris Leachman, Peter Stormare, Sakina Jaffrey, Dean Winters, Devery Jacobs and Kahyun Kim.

Jesse Alexander replaced series creators Bryan Fuller and Michael Green as showrunner for the second season. He executive produces with McShane, Neil Gaiman, Craig Cegielski, Scott Hornbacher and Stefanie Berk. Chris Byrne directs the premiere and serves as a co-executive producer.
