Disney+ has today given a series order to the original comedy series Diary of a Female President executive produced by Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin, Carmen Sandiego). The first season will produce 10 episodes.
Told from the narration of her diary, the comedy follows a Cuban-American 12-year-old girl as she navigates the ups and downs of middle school and her journey to becoming the future President of the United States.
Ilana Peña (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) created the comedy, with Robin Shorr (The Carmichael Show) set as showrunner for the first season. They will both executive produce with Rodriguez. CBS Television Studios and I Can and I Will Productions will produce.
