Netflix has today given a series order to the original drama series Shadow and Bone created by Eric Heisserer (Arrival, Bird Box). The first season will feature eight episodes.
Based on the "Grishaverse" novels by author Leigh Bardugo, the drama is set in a world divided in two by a massive barrier of perpetual darkness that hides monsters who feast on human flesh. A young soldier discovers she has a power that could unite her country, but dangerous forces plot against her.
Heisserer will executive produce with Bardugo, Pouya Shahbazian, Shawn Levy, Dan Levine, Dan Cohen and Josh Barry. New Leaf Literary & Media and 21 Laps Entertainment will produce.
