Netflix has today announced the premiere date for the new original comedy series Turn Up Charlie starring Idris Elba (Luther, the Thor franchise).
All 8 episodes of the first season will debut on Friday, March 15.
The comedy centers on Charlie (Elba), a struggling DJ and eternal bachelor, who is given a final chance at success when he reluctantly becomes a "manny" to his famous best friend's problem-child daughter.
The cast also features Piper Perabo, Frankie Hervey and JJ Feild.
Recurring guest stars in the first season include Angela Griffin, Guz Khan, Jocelyn Jee Esein, Jade Anouka, Cameron King and Dustin Demri-Burns.
Elba executive produces with Gary Reich, Laura Neal, Femi Oyeniran, Victoria Asare-Archer and director Tristram Shapeero. Brown Eyed Boy Productions and Green Door Pictures produce.
