CBS' THE EMPEROR OF MALIBU
- Ken Jeong will star in the comedy pilot written by Kevin Kwan and David Sangalli. He previously starred for six seasons in NBC's Community and in The Hangover film franchise. He was also the creator and star of ABC's Dr. Ken, which ran for two seasons. He recently appeared in the film Crazy Rich Asians based on the book also written by Kwan. His first stand-up comedy special Ken Jeong: You Complete Me, Ho was released yesterday on Netflix. He also serves as a judge on FOX's breakout reality competition The Masked Singer.
- He will play Gerry, a Chinese billionaire who is shocked when his son, Auggie, plans to marry a California woman he has been dating for two years without telling his parents. Gerry brings the whole family to Los Angeles to see if they can persuade Auggie to re-think his engagement.
FOX's RICHARD LOVELY
- Wendie Malick has been cast on the comedy pilot written by Billy Finnegan. She previously starred for seven seasons in NBC's Just Shoot Me! and six seasons in TV Land's Hot in Cleveland. She has recently recurred on ABC's American Housewife, Netflix's The Ranch, NBC's This Is Us, CBS' Mom and Netflix's BoJack Horseman.
- She will play Alana, Richard's mother. She loves her son very much but perhaps will always love herself a little bit more. Okay, a lot more.
