During its shared presentation at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour with other A+E Networks, History has renewed its original drama series Project Blue Book for a second season. The new season will produce 10 episodes, which will likely debut in 2020.
The drama stars Aidan Gillen, Michael Malarkey, Laura Mennell, Michael J. Harney, Ksenia Solo and Neal McDonough.
David O'Leary created the drama, with Sean Jablonski serving as showrunner. They executive produce with Robert Zemeckis, Jack Rapke, Jackie Levine, Barry Jossen and Arturo Interian. A+E Studios and Compari Entertainment produce.
"We are believers in Project Blue Book and so is our audience who has sparked a conversation about the hundreds of unsolved cases and our nation's military response to UFOs that have remained relatively secret until now," said Eli Lehrer, Executive Vice President and Head of Programming, History. "Zemeckis, A+E Studios and our extraordinary creative team have shaped a compelling narrative that is the perfect blend of historical authenticity and entertainment that inspires curiosity in our viewers to learn more. We've touched on a very relevant topic and look forward to a second season."
