NBC has today renewed its original drama series The Blacklist for a seventh season. It joins fellow dramas New Amsterdam, Chicago Med, Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. on the network's 2019-20 schedule.
The renewal was announced today after Sony closed deals for series stars Megan Boone, Diego Klatenhoff and Harry Lennix to return for the new season. James Spader was already signed onto the seventh season, with his contract expiring at the end of it. It's currently unclear if the seventh season will be the final one for the drama.
Jon Bokenkamp created the drama. He executive produces with Spaders, John Davis, John Eisendrath and John Fox. Sony Pictures Television, Universal Television and Davis Entertainment produce.
When factoring in seven days of delayed viewing, the drama's current sixth season is averaging a 1.25 rating in the key Adults 18-49 demographic and 7.3 million total viewers.
