Comedy Central has today announced the premiere date for the upcoming original sketch comedy series Alternatino with Arturo Castro.
The ten-episode first season will debut on Tuesday, June 18 at 10:30/9:30c.
The comedy continues Comedy Central's unparalleled legacy of developing the biggest and most culturally relevant sketch comedy - launching the careers of stars like Dave Chappelle, Amy Schumer, Nick Kroll, Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele - using modern Latino identity (misconceptions and all) as a fresh filter for cultural commentary about our daily lives and the zeitgeist.
Arturo Castro (Broad City, Narcos) tackles more than 45 characters in sketches that showcase his perspective on relationships, everyday awkward moments and much more. Each episode in addition to the sketches has a scripted narrative thread that features a heightened version of Arturo as he goes about daily life as a Latin millennial.
Castro created the comedy. He executive produces with showrunner Jay Martel, David Martin, Jon Thoday, Richard Allen-Turner, Sam Saifer, Ari Pearce, Jose Acevedo and director Nick Jasenovec. Avalon Television produces.
