Following a multiple outlet bidding war, Apple has given a series order to the original limited series Lisey's Story starring Academy Award and Emmy winner Julianne Moore (Still Alice, Game Change). The season will produce eight episodes.
Based on Stephen King's 2006 novel, the deeply personal thriller follows Lisey (Moore) two years following the death of her husband. The series explores a series of events that causes her to begin facing amazing realities about her husband that she had repressed and forgotten.
In a surprising move, King will also write all eight episodes of the adaptation. He will also executive produce with Moore, J.J. Abrams and Ben Stephenson. Warner Bros. Television and Bad Robot Productions.
