HBO has today given a series order to the original comedy series Avenue 5 starring Hugh Laurie (House, Veep). The new series reunites Laurie with Veep creator Armando Iannucci, who wrote and directed the pilot.
The series is described as a space tourism comedy set 40 years in the future when the solar system is everyone's oyster.
In addition to Laurie, the comedy also stars Josh Gad, Zach Woods, Suzy Nakamura, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Lenora Crichlow, Ethan Phillips and Rebecca Front.
Iannucci will executive produce with Kevin Loader, Simon Blackwell, Tony Roche and Will Smith.
