Hulu is further expanding its partnership with Marvel Television by giving series orders to live-action dramas Ghost Rider and Helstrom. Both shows are set to debut in 2020.
In Ghost Rider, Robbie Reyes is a quintessential antihero, consumed by hellfire and supernaturally bound to a demon. He lives on the Texas-Mexico border and when he unleashes the Rider, he brings vengeance for the innocents he encounters, but struggles to control the power he wields.
Gabriel Luna played the role on a recurring basis on ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and will star in the new drama. However, it will be a different iteration of the character and isn't a planned spinoff of the broadcast drama.
Ingrid Escajeda (Justified, Sneaky Pete) developed the drama and will serve as showrunner. She will executive produce with Paul Zbyszewski and Jeph Loeb. ABC Signature Studios and Marvel Television will produce.
In Helstrom, Daimon and Ana Helstrom are the son and daughter of a mysterious and powerful serial killer. The siblings have a complicated dynamic as they track down the terrorizing worst of humanity - each with their attitude and skills.
Paul Zbyszewski (Lost, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) developed the drama and will serve as showrunner. He will executive produce with Jeph Loeb. ABC Signature Studios and Marvel Television will produce.
