Casting News - Derek Luke and Max Martini Join 'The Purge'; James Marsden to Star in 'The Stand'; Plus 3 More Updates!

CBS All Access' The Stand; National Geographic's The Right Stuff; Paramount's Paradise Lost; Showtime's Ray Donovan; and USA's The Purge.





PARAMOUNT's PARADISE LOST
  • Elaine Hendrix, Brett Rice, Silas Weir Mitchell, Autry Haydon-Wilson and John Marshall Jones have been cast in recurring roles on the upcoming drama starring Josh Hartnett and Bridget Regan. Hendrix starred for two seasons in FX's Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll and recently recurred on FOX's Proven Innocent. Rice has recurred on Netflix's Longmire and Insatiable. Mitchell starred for six seasons in NBC's Grimm. Haydon-Wilson appears in CBS All Access' upcoming drama Interrogation. Jones has recurred on USA's Shooter and Amazon's Bosch.
  • Hendrix will play Devoe Shifflet. Rice will play Uncle BB. Mitchell will play Boyd. Hardon-Wilson will play Janus. Jones will play Uncle Ronny.
USA's THE PURGE
  • Derek Luke, Max Martini, Paola Nuñez and Joel Allen are set as new series regulars on the drama's upcoming second season. Luke starred for two seasons in Netflix's 13 Reasons Why. Martini recently starred in the first season of Netflix's The Order. Nuñez is currently recurring on AMC's The Son. Allen starred in the Sundance comedy Never Goin' Back.
  • Luke will play Marcus Moore, an accomplished professional with a loving wife and a beautiful house whose seemingly perfect life is shattered when an assassin breaks into his house on Purge night.
  • Martini will play Ryan Grant. Unassuming yet laser-focused, he spends his entire year precisely preparing for a massive once-a-year Purge heist with his long-time crew.
  • Nuñez will play Esme Carmona, a top employee at an NFFA surveillance center. She has dedicated her life to spotting crimes and digitally tagging lawbreakers.
  • Allen will play Ben, a clean-cut, fraternity member from a middle-class suburban family. His life changes forever when he goes out on Purge night for the first time.
SHOWTIME's RAY DONOVAN
  • Josh Hamilton, Kerry Condon and Louisa Krause have booked recurring roles on the drama's upcoming seventh season. Hamilton has previously recurred on Netflix's 13 Reasons Why. Condon has recurred on AMC's Better Call Saul. Krause starred in the second season of Starz's The Girlfriend Experience.
  • Hamilton will play Kevin Sullivan, a billionaire mogul whose shady operations will have implications for Ray's (Liev Schreiber) business.
  • Condon will play Molly Sullivan, Kevin's sister and manager of the family's high-profile businesses.
  • Krause will play Liberty, an alluring healer and provider of alternative medicine who offers Terry (Eddie Marsan) a new experience to broaden his mind.
NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC's THE RIGHT STUFF
  • Eric Ladin, Patrick Fischler, Nora Zehetner, Eloise Mumford, Shannon Lucio and Josh Cooke will co-star on the upcoming drama starring Patrick J. Adams and Jake McDorman. Ladin starred for two seasons in AMC's The Killing and one season in History's Six. Fischler recently starred for two seasons in Syfy's Happy!. Zehetner has recurred on ABC's Designated Survivor, IFC's Maron and ABC's Grey's Anatomy. Mumford appeared in the Fifty Shades of Grey film franchise. Lucio has recurred on FOX's The O.C., HBO's True Blood and FOX's Prison Break. Cooke has recurred on Showtime's Dexter, The CW's Hart of Dixie, Netflix's Longmire and Hulu's Castle Rock.
  • Ladin will play Chris Kraft, a brash member of NASA's Space Task group, charged by President Dwight Eisenhower with putting a man into space.
  • Fischler will play Bob Gilruth, a soft-spoken rocket scientist and Chris' partner.
  • Zehetner will play Annie Glenn, the wife of John Glenn (Adams), who has known, and loved, her husband since childhood - and they've never been apart.
  • Mumford will play Trudy Cooper, the wife of Gordo Cooper (Joe Dempsie), a woman of poise and confidence, able to command attention without saying a word.
  • Lucio will play Louise Shepard, the wife of Alan Shepard (McDorman).
  • Cooke will play Loudon Wainwright Jr., LIFE Magazine's star reporter, tasked with writing the biographies of all seven astronauts and has the keenest look at what's really transpiring.
CBS ALL ACCESS' THE STAND
  • James Marsden is in final negotiations to play the lead role on the upcoming limited series adaptation of the novel by Stephen King. He recently starred for two seasons in HBO's Westworld and in the first season of Netflix's Dead to Me. He next appears in the FX limited series Mrs. America starring Cate Blanchett, Uzo Aduba and Rose Byrne.
  • He will play Stu Redman, a former military man who is immune to the virus. He found patient zero in the original quarantine zone but never got sick so the government was precious with him in order to try to find a vaccine from his blood.
