During the streaming service's presentation at the Television Critics Association's summer press tour, Amazon renewed a pair of its original drama series ahead of their debuts on the service. Carnival Row has been a renewed for a second season ahead of its August debut, while The Expanse has received a fifth season order ahead of its December debut.
Carnival Row stars Orlando Bloom, Cara Delevingne, David Gyasi, Karla Crome, Indira Varma, Tamzin Merchant, Jared Harris, Simon McBurney, Alice Krige, Ariyon Bakare, Andrew Gower and Jamie Harris.
Rene Echevarria created the drama. He executive produces with Travis Beacham, Marc Guggenheim, Jon Amiel and director Paul McGuigan. Bloom is a producer. Legendary Television produces.
The first season debuts on Friday, August 30.
The Expanse stars Steven Strait, Cas Anvar, Dominique Tipper, Wes Chatham, Frankie Adams, Cara Gee and Shohreh Aghdashloo.
Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby developed the drama based on the novels by James S.A. Corey. They executive produce with Naren Shankar, Ty Franck, Andrew Kosove, Broderick Johnson, Laura Lancaster, Sharon Hall, Sean Daniel, Jason Brown, Daniel Abraham and Dan Nowak. Amazon Studios and Alcon Television Group produce.
The fourth season - its first produced exclusively for Amazon - premieres on Friday, December 13.
