HBO has today announced the premiere date for the upcoming original sketch comedy series A Black Lady Sketch Show created by and starring Robin Thede (The Rundown).
The first season will premiere on Friday, August 2 at 11/10c.
Set in a limitless magical reality full of dynamic, hilarious characters and celebrity guests, the show presents sketches performed by a core cast of black women, including Robin Thede, Ashley Nicole Black, Gabrielle Dennis and Quinta Brunson.
Thede executive produces with Issa Rae, Dave Becky, Jonathan Berry, Tony Hernandez and Brooke Posch. Lauren Ashley Smith serves as head writer and co-executive producer. Deniese Davis, Montrel McKay and John Skidmore are producers. Jax Media, 3 Arts Entertainment and Issa Rae Productions produce.
