NETFLIX's DEAR WHITE PEOPLE
- Blair Underwood, Yvette Nicole Brown and Laverne Cox have been cast in recurring roles on the comedy's upcoming third season. Underwood previously starred for seven seasons in NBC's L.A. Law, two seasons in ABC's Quantico and in the Netflix limited series When They See Us. Brown starred for five seasons in NBC's Community and three seasons in CBS' The Odd Couple. Cox has appeared in all seven seasons of Netflix's Orange Is the New Black, earning three Emmy nominations for her performance.
- No details were released about the characters they will be playing. The third season debuts on the streaming service on Friday, August 2.
NBC's CHICAGO P.D.
- Paul Adelstein has booked a recurring role on the drama's upcoming seventh season. He previously starred for three seasons in FOX's Prison Break, six seasons in ABC's Private Practice, two seasons in Bravo's Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce, one season in Hulu's Chance and one season in NBC's I Feel Bad.
- He will play Jason Crawford, the Interim Superintendent who fills the void left by Brian Kelton (John C. McGinley), who was murdered in the sixth season finale.
TNT's ANIMAL KINGDOM
- Joseph Morgan will appear in a recurring role on the drama's current fourth season. He previously starred for three seasons in The CW's The Vampire Diaries and five seasons in its spinoff The Originals. He next stars in USA's upcoming drama Brave New World.
- He will play Jed, Colin's (Grant Harvey) brother. Not only is he unstable, he has rejected mainstream society and chooses to live in isolation on a rural compound with his beleaguered wife and three children.
FOX's THE RESIDENT
- Morris Chestnut has joined the cast of the drama's upcoming third season as a new series regular. He previously starred for two seasons in ABC's V, two seasons in Showtime's Nurse Jackie, two seasons in FOX's Rosewood, one season in Amazon's Goliath and one season in NBC's The Enemy Within.
- He will Dr. Barrett Cain, an intimidating neurosurgeon hired by Red Rock Medical to turn around Chastain's finances. He believes himself to be a superman physician, capable of curing crippling diseases. He's charming when he wants to be but utterly ruthless in his quest for money and power. His ability to exact swift revenge on any who oppose him will put the good doctors at Chastain in jeopardy.
NETFLIX's AWAY
- Josh Charles will play the male lead on the upcoming drama starring Hilary Swank. He previously starred for five seasons in CBS' The Good Wife, which earned him two Emmy nominations. Since then, he has recurred on Showtime's Masters of Sex, Netflix's Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Showtime's The Loudest Voice.
- He will play Matt Logan, a NASA engineer whose wife (Swank) is commanding the first mission to Mars. He faces the already enormous challenges of dealing with the mission from home, while trying to raise their teenage daughter on his own. But when he goes through a life-altering experience, he will understand the true cost of what it means to be away from each other.
