Hulu's Ramy and Paramount's Yellowstone.
HULU's RAMY
- Mahershala Ali will appear as a special guest star on the comedy's upcoming second season. He is a two-time Academy Award winner for Moonlight and Green Book. He recently starred in the third season of HBO's True Detective, which earned him an Emmy nomination earlier this month. Last week, Marvel announced that he will play the lead role in a new film version of Blade.
- No details were immediately released about the character he will be playing. However, the streaming service teases the new season as delving further into Ramy Hassan's (Ramy Youssef) spiritual journey, finding a new Muslim community and embracing a deeper commitment to Islam.
PARAMOUNT's YELLOWSTONE
- Forrie J. Smith has been promoted to series regular for the drama's upcoming third season. Moreover, John Emmet Tracy has been cast in a recurring role. Smith has recurred throughout the drama's first two seasons - appearing in 13 episodes overall. Tracy has been recurring on The CW's iZombie.
- Smith plays Lloyd Pierce, the cow boss for John Dutton (Kevin Costner).
- Tracy will play Ellis Steele, a chief litigator whose firm represents Fortune 500 companies in land-acquisition deals. He is extremely intelligent - the kind of person who will smile as he stabs you in the back.
