Casting News - Cristin Milioti to Star in 'Made for Love'; Genevieve Angelson Joins 'Titans'; Plus 3 More Updates!

Casting News - July 29, 2019

The CW's Legacies; DC Universe's Titans; HBO Max's Made for Love; History's Project Blue Book; and Netflix's Bridgerton.

NETFLIX's BRIDGERTON
  • Luke Thompson, Will Tilston, Florence Hunt, Ruby Stokes, Ben Miller, Bessie Carter, Harriet Cains, Martins Imhangbe and Lorraine Ashbourne have been cast on the upcoming drama from Shonda Rhimes. Moreover, Julie Anne Robinson has signed on to direct and executive produce the premiere.
  • Thompson (Dunkirk) will play Benedict Bridgerton, the second-eldest of the Bridgerton siblings. He yearns for something other than the endless round of dazzling parties he finds himself attending every evening. Sensitive and endearing, he dreams of turning his artistic hobby into a full-fledged career and soon finds himself looking far outside the world of the ton in order to achieve it.
  • Tilston (Goodbye Christopher Robin) will play Gregory Bridgerton, a verifiable, though lovable, terror with a heart of gold who's constantly teasing his little sister Hyacinth, who he lives to vex.
  • Hunt (Cursed) will play Hyacinth Bridgerton. Wise beyond her years, she is both singular and exuberant. The youngest Bridgerton sibling, she can't wait to follow in her sisters' footsteps and take part in the marriage mart.
  • Stokes (Da Vinci's Demons) will play Francesca Bridgerton. More reserved and mysterious than the rest of the Bridgerton siblings, she is careful with her words and has a sly, subversive sense of humor.
  • Miller (Johnny English Strikes Again) will play Lord Featherington. Despite this lecherous lord's fancy title, London society still rather sees him as a bit of a joke. He might treat his wife with little to no respect, yet he always seems to have a soft spot for his daughters.
  • Carter (Les Misérables) will play Prudence Featherington. Ferociously storming the marriage mart for a third season, she is considered "on the shelf." Perhaps it's because the eldest Featherington girl has not one nice bone in her body - though neither she, nor her mother, would ever admit it.
  • Cains (Marcella) will play Philippa Featherington. Not exactly known for her smarts or cleverness, she is the middle Featherington child. She's merely focused on one thing: finding herself a husband.
  • Imhangbe (The Tragedy of King Richard the Second) will play Will Mondrich, a strapping, up-and-coming boxer climbing London's strict social hierarchy with apprehension due to his newfound celebrity and his close friendship with the Duke.
  • Ashbourne (Cheat) will play Mrs. Varley, the efficient yet prickly housekeeper for the Featherington family.
HBO MAX's MADE FOR LOVE
  • Cristin Milioti will play the lead role on the upcoming comedy created by Patrick Somerville. She previously starred for one season in CBS' How I Met Your Mother and one season in FX's Fargo. She also starred in the "USS Callister" episode of Netflix's Black Mirror. She next appears in an upcoming episode of Amazon anthology Modern Love.
  • She will play Hazel Green, a 30-something woman on the run after 10 years in a suffocating marriage to an unstable, needy, possibly sociopathic tech billionaire. Soon she discovers that her husband has already implanted a revolutionary monitoring device - the Made for Love - in her brain, allowing him to track her, watch her and know her thoughts and feelings as she tries to stay alive.
DC UNIVERSE's TITANS
  • Genevieve Angelson has joined the cast of the drama's upcoming second season. She previously starred for one season in Amazon's Good Girls Revolt and in the Pop limited series Flack.
  • She will play Dr. Eve Watson, a research doctor with conflicted feelings about her recent work at Cadmus Laboratories, the genetic engineering hub known as the birthplace of the clone called Superboy (Joshua Orpin).
HISTORY's PROJECT BLUE BOOK
  • Jerod Haynes has booked a recurring role on the drama's upcoming second season. He recently starred in NBC's one-season drama The Village.
  • He will play Daniel Banks, a high-ranking, charismatic CIA operative. Dr. Hynek (Aidan Gillen) and Captain Michael Quinn (Michael Malarkey) first encounter him at Area 51. Soon, he becomes a powerful and unpredictable new asset for the duo's quest for the truth in a UFO conspiracy that is growing increasingly dangerous.
THE CW's LEGACIES
  • Alexis Denisof has landed a recurring role on the drama's upcoming second season. He previously starred for five seasons in The WB's Angel and two seasons in MTV's Finding Carter. He has also recurred on NBC's Grimm and Netflix's Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
  • He will play Professor Vardemus, an urbane British sorcerer. A bit of a dandy, he wins over the Salvatore students with his steadfast belief in the superiority of their supernatural world.
