Netflix has today announced the premiere date for the upcoming second season of the original drama series Mindhunter - nearly two years after the first debuted.
All 8 episodes of the second season will be available on Friday, August 16.
The second season will be set during the time of the Atlanta child murders of 1979-81, during which serial killer Wayne Williams was tried, convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment for killing two adult males. Williams, however, was never tried for any of the child murders, 23 of which he was suspected of being involved with.
Other serial killers to be featured in the new episodes are Charles Manson and David Berkowitz aka "Son of Sam."
Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany and Anna Torv will return as stars.
Joe Penhall created the drama. He executive produces with Charlize Theron, Beth Kono, Ceán Chaffin, Joshua Donen and director David Fincher. Denver and Delilah Productions produces in association with Netflix.
