HBO has today announced the premiere date for the upcoming original comedy series The Righteous Gemstones created by and starring Danny McBride (Eastbound & Down, Vice Principals).
The nine-episode first season will begin with an hourlong episode on Sunday, August 18 at 10/9c., followed by half-hour episodes on subsequent Sundays.
The comedy tells the story of a world-famous televangelist family with a long tradition of deviance, greed and charitable work.
The cast features Danny McBride, John Goodman, Edi Patterson, Adam Devine, Cassidy Freeman, Tony Cavalero, Tim Baltz and GregAlan Williams.
McBride executive produces with Jody Hill, David Gordon Green, John Carcieri, Jeff Fradley and Brandon James.
