Netflix Announces Premiere Date for Limited Series 'Unbelievable' Starring Toni Collette, Merritt Wever and Kaitlyn Dever

Netflix has today announced the premiere date for the original limited series Unbelievable starring Emmy winners Toni Collette (United States of Tara, Hereditary) and Merritt Wever (Nurse Jackie, Godless).

All eight episodes will be available on the streaming service on Friday, September 13.

Inspired by the real events in The Marshall Project and ProPublica Pulitzer-winning 2015 article "An Unbelievable Story of Rape" and the This American Life episode "Anatomy of Doubt," the story revolves around Marie Adler (Kaitlyn Dever, Booksmart), who files a police report claiming she's been sexually assaulted by an intruder in her home. The investigating detectives, as well as the people closest to her, come to doubt the truth of her story. Meanwhile, hundreds of miles away, detectives Grace Rasmussen (Collette) and Karen Duvall (Wever) meet while investigating an eerily similar pair of intruder rapes and partner to catch a potential serial rapist.

The cast also features Danielle Macdonald, Kai Lennox, Dale Dickey, Austin Hébert, Omar Maskati, Liza Lapira, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Eric Lange and Elizabeth Marvel.

Susannah Grant, Michael Chabon and Ayelet Waldman created the series, with Grant serving as showrunner and director. Liso Cholodenko also directed several episodes. All four executive produce with Katic Couric, Sarah Timberman, Carl Beverly, Richard Tofel, Neil Barsky and Robyn Semin. CBS Television Studios and Timberman/Beverly Productions produce.
