SHOWTIME'S HOW TO MAKE LOVE TO A BLACK WOMAN
- Mario Van Peebles, Tonya Pinkins and Amandla Jahava have been cast on the comedy anthology pilot starring Kendrick Sampson and Carra Patterson. Van Peebles is an actor-director whose recent credits include Syfy's Superstition, FOX's Empire and Netflix's Bloodline. Pinkins won a Tony Award in 1992 for Jelly's Last Jam. She received additional Tony nominations for Play On! in 1997 and Caroline, or Change in 2004. Jahava is a relative newcomer.
- Van Peebles will play Sam, a kind stranger who connects with Rashida.
- Pinkins will play Florence, Rashida's mother, who is keeping a secret from her daughter.
- Jahava will play Rashida, a young woman confronting an unexpected loss.
