HBO has today renewed its original sketch comedy series A Black Lady Sketch Show for a second season. The comedy will likely return with new episodes in 2020.
The sketch comedy stars Robin Thede, Ashley Nicole Black, Gabrielle Dennis and Quinta Brunson.
Thede created the comedy, with Lauren Ashley Smith as the head writer. They executive produce with Issa Rae, Dave Becky, Jonathan Berry, Tony Hernandez and Brooke Posch. Dime Davis directed the entire first season. Issa Rae Productions, 3 Arts Entertainment and Jax Media produce.
It's been thrilling to see the audience embrace the characters that Robin, Ashley, Gabrielle and Quinta have brought to life," said Amy Gravitt, Executive Vice President, HBO Programming. "We had a blast making this groundbreaking sketch show with Robin, Dime and all of the writers and producers, and I can't wait to see what next season holds."
