Clinton Impeachment Set as Third Installment of 'American Crime Story' with Beanie Feldstein as Monica Lewinsky

During the cable network's presentation at the Television Critics Association's summer press tour, FX announced that the Clinton impeachment will serve as the focus for the upcoming third installment of Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story. Production will begin in February for a Fall 2020 debut.

Impeachment: American Crime Story will star Sarah Paulson (The People v. O.J. Simpson, Ratched) as Linda Tripp, Beanie Feldstein (Lady Bird, Booksmart) as Monica Lewinsky and Annaleigh Ashford (The Assassination of Gianni Versace, Masters of Sex) as Paula Jones.

Sarah Burgess is writing the season based on the novel A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Story of the Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down a President by Jeffrey Toobin. She will executive produce with Murphy, Paulson, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Brad Falchuk, Larry Karaszewski, Scott Alexander and Alexis Martin Woodall. The real-life Monica Lewinsky as well as Henrietta Conrad and Jemima Kahn will also produce. FX Productions and Fox 21 Television Studios will produce.

"FX's American Crime Story franchise has become a cultural touchstone, providing greater context for stories that deserve greater understanding like the O.J. Simpson trial and saga, and Andrew Cunanan's tragic crime spree which concluded with the assassination of Gianni Versace," said John Landgraf, CEO, FX. "This franchise re-examines some of the most complicated, polarizing stories in recent history in a way that is relevant, nuanced and entertaining. Impeachment: American Crime Story will likewise explore the overlooked dimensions of the women who found themselves caught up in the scandal and political war that cast a long shadow over the Clinton presidency."

The cable network has already given the season a premiere date too - Sunday, September 27, 2020 at 10/9c.
