Amazon has officially renewed the original drama series Absentia for a third season. The drama starring Stana Katic will return on the streaming service in 2020.
Three months after the dramatic events of Season 2, Emily nears the end of her suspension from the FBI and is working hard to be the best possible mother to her son. Everything is upended when one of Nick Durand's criminal cases hits too close to home and threatens the lives of the family Emily is desperately trying to hold together. It's a dangerous journey that will take Emily far from Boston testing her like never before and forcing her to learn to trust again, to love again, and to finally realize her true place in the world.
In addition to Katic, returning cast members include Patrick Heusinger, Neil Jackson, Matthew Le Nevez, Natasha Little, Paul Freeman and Patrick McAuley.
New cast additions include Geoff Bell and Josette Simon.
Will Pascoe will replace Samantha Corbin-Miller as showrunner for the third season. He executive produces with Katic, Julie Glucksman and director Kasia Adamik. Amazon Studios, Sony Pictures Television, Bizu Productions and Gemstone Studios produce.
