Apple has today given a series order to the original drama series Mosquito Coast starring Justin Theroux (The Leftovers, Maniac) based on the novel by his uncle, Paul Theroux.
Justin Theroux will play an idealist who uproots his family to Latin America.
Neil Cross and Tom Bissell developed the drama, with Cross set to serve as showrunner. They will executive produce with Alan Gasmer, Peter Jaysen, Bob Bookman and director Rupert Wyatt. Fremantle will produce.
The series pickup comes a day after Theroux won his first Emmy Award - for executive producing ABC's Live In Front of a Studio Audience: Norman Lear's "All in the Family" and "The Jeffersons" which won for Outstanding Variety Special (Live).
