HBO has today announced the premiere date for the upcoming original drama series His Dark Materials based on the book trilogy by Philip Pullman.
The first season will premiere on Monday, November 4 at 9/8c.
The drama follows Lyra (Dafne Keen), a seemingly ordinary but brave young woman from another world. Her search for a kidnapped friend uncovers a sinister plot involving stolen children and becomes a quest to understand a mysterious phenomenon called Dust.
The cast also features James McAvoy, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ruth Wilson, Clarke Peters, James Cosmo, Anne-Marie Duff, Will Keen and Ariyon Bakare.
Jack Thorne developed the drama. He executive produces with Pullman, Toby Emmerich, Carolyn Blackwood, Ben Irving, Piers Wenger, Dan McCulloch, Jane Tranter, Joel Collins, Julie Gardner, Otto Bathurst, Deborah Forte and director Tom Hopper. New Line Cinema and Bad Wolf produce in association with HBO and BBC One.
The drama has already been renewed for a second season.
