Apple has today given a series order to the original limited series Masters of the Air based on the novel of the same name by Donald L. Miller. The series will be the first where Apple will also serve as the company producing the project.
The limited series tells the story of the American bomber boys in World War II who brought the war to Hitler's doorstep.
John Orloff (Band of Brothers) is writing the series. He will executive produce with Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman, Graham Yost, Darryl Frank, Justin Falvey and Steven Shareshian. Amblin Television and Playtone will produce in association with Apple.
